What a Wedding at The Abbott House Actually Costs (And What's Included)

Every wedding venue website says "inquire for pricing." Here's ours instead.

If you are planning a wedding near San Antonio right now, you already know the routine. You find a venue you love, you fill out a form, you wait three days, and then you get an email that still doesn't tell you what it costs.

We are not going to do that to you. Here is exactly what The Abbott House costs, exactly what is included, and — the part almost nobody puts in writing — what it actually looks like once you add everything else a wedding needs.

What The Abbott House costs

Courtyard Vows — $3,700 weekend / $3,200 weekday. Eight hours at the venue, tables and chairs, full ceremony and reception setup, and venue cleanup.

The Grand Gala — $5,400 weekend / $4,700 weekday. Everything above, plus your decor: table linens, the full tablescape, napkins and centerpieces. You also get the Bridal Suite, the Groom's Lounge, and access to the house itself for getting ready and photographs.

Royal Wedding — $10,700 weekend / $8,700 weekday. Everything above, plus a ten-hour rental, ceremony decor and arch, officiant services, a day-of coordinator, a three-hour open bar with signature cocktails, a complimentary engagement or bridal shoot at the venue, a free rehearsal dinner venue, and your customized wedding dinner menu printed.

Dream Wedding — $22,000, all-inclusive, up to 100 guests. Twelve hours, and essentially everything: full-service catering, an open bar from ceremony to send-off, a champagne toast, our full luxury decor package, fresh florals, a two-tier wedding cake, six hours of wedding photography and videography, DJ and emcee services, expert coordination, officiant services, elegant porcelain plateware, a printed custom dinner menu, your rehearsal dinner venue, a bridal or engagement shoot, and a specialty service of your choosing. Additional guests are $99 per person.

The honest math nobody shows you

Those first three numbers are the venue. Here is what happens when you take our middle package, The Grand Gala, and add the things a hundred-guest wedding actually needs — using our own à la carte pricing:

• The Grand Gala (weekend) — $5,400

• Full-service catering, 100 guests at $38/plate — $3,800

• Passed hors d'oeuvres at cocktail hour, $18/pp — $1,800

• Open bar, 3 hours, $25/pp — $2,500

• Fresh floral package — $2,500

• Decor package — tablescapes & ceremony — $1,500

• Wedding photography, 4 hours — $1,000

• Videography, 4 hours — $1,000

• DJ services, 4 hours — $800

• Day-of coordination — $800

• Abbott House for photos & getting ready — $800

• Rehearsal dinner venue — $500

• Photo booth or 360 video booth — $500

• Arch or arbor rental — $350

• Four additional hours at $125/hr — $500

• Built piece by piece — $24,050

And that version is the smaller one. It has a three-hour bar instead of open bar from ceremony to send-off. It has four hours of photography and four of video instead of six hours of both. It has no two-tier wedding cake, no champagne toast, no printed custom menu, no porcelain plateware, no specialty service.

The Dream Wedding is $22,000 — for more than what is on that list.

That is the entire point of it. It is not a premium package; it is the same wedding, assembled by people who do this every weekend, for about two thousand dollars less than building it yourself one line item at a time. And you make one decision instead of fifteen.

What's actually included that other venues charge for

We do the setup. We do the breakdown. You do not touch a chair, before or after. Most venues hand you a key and an empty room and wish you luck. Our team builds your wedding and takes it down while you are on your honeymoon.

Send us your inspiration photos and we make it happen. Screenshots, a Pinterest board, a picture you saved eight months ago — send it. That is our actual planning process, and it is why our couples' weddings look like the thing they imagined instead of a compromise.

We are always bringing in new luxury decor, and we make custom silk florals in-house for our brides. Your tables are not last weekend's centerpieces.

We help you plan even when it isn't our job. Need a last-minute DJ? A string quartet? A horse? We will either hand you the contact or book it for you ourselves. We have been doing this long enough to know everybody in this county worth knowing.

And then there's the house

The Abbott House was built between 1895 and 1897 by builder Henry Weiss for Julius M. Abbott and his wife, Fannie Mae Humphreys Abbott, on land that was part of her parents' farm — her father, Dr. Benjamin Wayne Humphreys, lived just up the street at 902 North Austin.

It is a Queen Anne Victorian with twelve-foot ceilings, four working fireplaces, seven porches, a third-story turret, three sets of pocket doors, original 1800s stained and leaded glass, more than forty windows, a hidden servant's staircase, and a secret door. There is a sloped ramp into the basement that was built for a horse and buggy.

You cannot build this. You can only get married in it.
